Oil giants rise 1%, Iranian president takes a tough stance as Brent oil returns to $100

    ET Net News Agency reported on the 24th: Oil giants saw gains, PetroChina (00857) rose 1.4%, to HK$9.48; CNOOC (00883) rose 0.9%, to HK$23.56; Sinopec (00386) fell 0.6%, to HK$4.42. At current prices, the stock has declined for three consecutive days, with a cumulative drop of 1.4%.

    Iranian President Pezeshkian stated at the United Nations General Assembly that Tehran does not rule out negotiations but refuses to be threatened. As long as sanctions and blockades remain, Iran will not allow free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

    Following the Iranian president's tough stance, international oil prices rebounded, with Brent crude futures price returning above $100 per barrel, currently at $102.29.

    Currently, the Hang Seng Index stands at 24,701, down 132 points or 0.5%, with main board turnover exceeding HK$4.3 billion. The H-share Index stands at 8,233, down 40 points or 0.5%. The Hang Seng Tech Index stands at 4,345, down 33 points or 0.8%. (am)
