Zelenskyy claims North Korea sending additional 10,000 troops to aid Russia; South Korea dissatisfied with Ukraine's disclosure of North Korean POWs transferred to South Korea, urges apology
《ETN Communication Service, special report on the 29th》 Yonhap News Agency reported that South Korea expressed dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian government's unilateral disclosure of the transfer of two North Korean prisoners of war to South Korea and Ukraine's claim that "there was never a confidentiality agreement between South Korea and Ukraine." On Monday (28th), South Korea summoned Andrii Vieshkin, Chargé d'Affaires of the Ukrainian Embassy in South Korea, to express serious concern.
South Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister Park Joon-kyu emphasized to Vieshkin that Ukraine's claim that "there was no confidentiality agreement between South Korea and Ukraine" is false, severely undermining mutual trust between the two countries. South Korea expressed strong regret and urged Ukraine to apologize and clarify the matter.
Additionally, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated on Monday that North Korea is preparing to send an additional 10,000 troops to Russia in exchange for Russian technical support in developing attack drones. He also said that over 8,000 North Korean troops are currently stationed in Russia, and North Korea is preparing for further troop deployment. (yc)
