U.S.-Iran deadlock persists, U.S. bond yields rise, Nvidia ups share buyback, four new stocks list today

1. U.S. stocks fell Monday (28th), weighed down by rising U.S. Treasury yields, higher oil prices, and growing inflation concerns. Investors also monitored developments in U.S.-Iran tensions and awaited a series of inflation and employment data due this week to assess the Fed's future interest rate path. The Dow一度 fell over 400 points during the session, while the S&P 500 declined nearly 1%. The Dow closed down 347.11 points, or 0.67%, at 51,481.51; the S&P 500 dropped 59.72 points, or 0.77%, to 7,683.69; and the Nasdaq declined 248.34 points, or 0.92%, to 26,820.38.

2. Iranian officials are reportedly pessimistic about reaching an agreement with Washington before the U.S. midterm elections, believing the likelihood of escalating conflict after the elections is high.

3. U.S. Treasuries were broadly under pressure on Monday (28th), with yields rising as markets further bet on future Fed rate hikes. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield continued to climb, briefly touching 5.233%, a new high since June 2007. The 5-year Treasury yield rose around 5 to 7 basis points during the day, reaching levels of approximately 5.04% to 5.06%.

4. Fed Governor Cook stated that productivity gains from AI in the future may not be sufficient to offset short-term inflation pressures, and the labor market appears capable of withstanding further rate hikes.

5. Saudi Arabia's key east-west oil pipeline is reportedly repaired and has restored half of its capacity, with crude oil flow via the pipeline reaching about 3.5 million barrels per day.

6. U.S. President Trump will meet with House Speaker Johnson at the White House on Tuesday (29th) alongside senior executives from the artificial intelligence industry. According to Semafor, Meta (US.META) is among the invited companies, along with Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, and top executives from Nvidia (US.NVDA) and OpenAI.

7. Nvidia's board approved an additional $150 billion authorization under its existing share buyback program, increasing the remaining buyback capacity to $235 billion. The company expects to complete execution by the end of fiscal 2028. Nvidia (US.NVDA) shares rose as much as 3.6% in early U.S. trading on Monday (28th), marking the largest intraday gain since September 2nd.

8. SpaceX's (US.SPCX) 'Starship' lifted off Monday (28th) from the Starbase facility in Texas, commencing its 14th integrated flight test. This mission marks the first attempt to reach Earth orbit and carries 26 next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, signifying Starship's transition from previous suborbital tests to actual orbital missions.

9. Chinese Premier Li Qiang chaired a State Council executive meeting, calling for research and introduction of policies to stabilize the real estate market and promote employment and income growth, intensifying counter-cyclical macroeconomic regulation to achieve full-year economic targets.

10. China is reportedly tightening overseas travel restrictions for top AI talent, requiring official approval in advance even for short-term departures by immediate family members, including spouses and children.

11. China's SASAC stated that central enterprises' '15th Five-Year' plan aims to increase the share of strategic emerging industries by another 5 percentage points by 2030.
