Huawei's new five-year cooperation with Seres has officially taken effect. AITO Motors announced yesterday that the strategic cooperation signing ceremony for the upgrade of Harmony Intelligent Mobility's AITO business was held in Shenzhen on September 30. Yu Chengdong, Huawei's Standing Director, Chairman of the Product Investment Review Committee, and Chairman of the Terminal BG, and Zhang Xinghai, Chairman (Founder) of Seres Group, attended the signing ceremony. Huawei and Seres stated that, looking ahead to the next five years, both parties will continue to focus on the core positioning of the AITO premium intelligent automobile brand, jointly establish a dedicated AITO business team, and further upgrade the AITO business.
Harmony Intelligent Mobility and AITO Motors under Seres earlier announced on September 15 a restructuring of their cooperation model, under which Seres will take the lead in product definition, product design, brand marketing, channel retail, and service systems, while Huawei will shift to an enabling role. Meanwhile, AITO will further move towards "dedicated and exclusive operations." In addition to AITO brand's direct and franchise stores, some Harmony Intelligent Mobility stores will also be transferred to Seres for operation, and the signing entity for the dealer comprehensive service agreement will be changed from Huawei Terminal to an affiliated company of Seres.
