Eurozone releases PPI, US releases PMI

ETN News Agency reported on the 5th: US stocks rose across the board last Friday (2nd). The US September non-farm payroll data fell far short of expectations, further cooling market expectations for a Fed rate hike by the end of this month, boosting technology stocks and interest-rate-sensitive shares. However, US Treasury yields, after an initial sharp decline, rebounded, limiting the market's gains. The Dow Jones closed up 250.4 points, or 0.49%, at 51176.96 points; the S&P 500 rose 56.27 points, or 0.73%, to 7722.72 points; the Nasdaq rose 319.27 points, or 1.19%, to 27190.86 points. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index closed at 24040, up 68 points or 0.3%, with turnover of HK$98.1 billion.

There are no major economic events in various countries. On the data front, at 5:00 pm today, Hong Kong time, the Eurozone will release the August Producer Price Index, with the month-on-month increase expected to expand from 1.6% to 1.9%, and the year-on-year increase expected to widen from 5.8% to 7.9%. At 9:45 pm tonight, the US will release the September composite Purchasing Managers Index, expected to rise from 56 to 58.3; the September services Purchasing Managers Index is expected to increase from 56.5 to 58.7.
