Tesla (US.TSLA) Q3 deliveries surpassed market expectations, with improved sales in Europe offsetting weak demand in the U.S. and China. The company announced that it delivered 486,500 vehicles from July to September, about 6.5% higher than the 456,800 vehicles expected by Visible Alpha analysts, and up approximately 1.3% from 480,100 vehicles in Q2. However, Tesla's Q3 deliveries were still about 2% lower than the 497,000 vehicles delivered in the same period last year.
Tesla's cumulative deliveries for the first three quarters of this year reached approximately 1.3247 million vehicles. If it delivers at least 311,400 vehicles in Q4, the company can avoid a year-on-year decline in annual deliveries for the third consecutive year. The European market has become the main support, with EU registrations up about two-thirds year-on-year as of the end of August, and the Model Y becoming the best-selling vehicle in France.
