Hong Kong tech and internet stocks performed well at market open; Tencent (00700) rose 0.8% to HK$426.4; Xiaomi (01810) rose 0.2% to HK$23.92; Baidu (09888) rose 1.9% to HK$85; JD.com (09618) rose 0.9% to HK$103.3; NetEase (09999) rose 0.9% to HK$187.3.
Currently, the Hang Seng Index stands at 24,279, up 239 points or 1%, with nearly HK$2.2 billion traded on the main board. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index is at 8,131, up 79 points or 1%. The Hang Seng Tech Index is at 4,226, up 42 points or 1%. (hc)
