Half-day T/O at HK$11bn, or 21% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 6 October 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$54.05 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$11.17 billion, or 20.67% of the market's turnover. There were 753 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.68 billion and HK$987.87 million, or 15.01% and 8.84% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 23.31% and 35.33% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709) registered HK$870.51 million and HK$765.18 million of short sales, accounting for 7.79% and 6.85% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 27.84% and 55.63% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.24, or 0.97%, to HK$24.88. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.048, or 1.17%, to HK$4.14. HSCEI ETF rose HK$0.76, or 0.92% to HK$83.22. XL2CSOPHYNIX declined by HK$3.06, or 7.13%, to HK$39.88.
