Taiwan stock market opens 0.05% higher; Hon Hai's quarterly revenue surges nearly 50% year-on-year

The ET Net News Agency reported on the 6th that U.S. stocks rose on Monday (5th), with all three major indices climbing. The Nasdaq rose more than 1%, hitting new intraday and closing highs, while the S&P 500 also approached its historical peak. The Taiwan Stock Exchange weighted index opened 0.05% higher this morning, at 49,736.37 points.

At 9:04am, the electronic components sub-index led the gains, rising 1.55%; the other electronics sub-index rose 1.47%; the plastics sub-index led the declines, down 1.17%. The weighted index stood at 49,882.01 points, up 0.34%.

*Hon Hai's September revenue exceeds one trillion, setting a new monthly record*

Hon Hai announced yesterday that its September revenue reached NT$1.158 trillion, up 25.70% month-on-month and 38.42% year-on-year, setting a new monthly high. It is also the first time monthly revenue has surpassed the NT$1 trillion threshold, making it the first company in Taiwan's history to achieve such a milestone.

Hon Hai's revenue for the third quarter of 2026 reached NT$3.03 trillion, up 20.44% quarter-on-quarter and 47.12% year-on-year, marking a record high for the same period in previous years. Cumulative revenue for the first nine months reached NT$7.67 trillion, up 39.53% year-on-year, the highest for the same period in history.
