Musk benefited from the rebound in the value of his stakes in SpaceX(US.SPCX) and Tesla(US.TSLA), with his wealth increasing by $65 billion on Monday (5th), reaching $1.04 trillion. Since October, SpaceX's stock price has risen 13%, while Tesla's has increased by 6.7%.
After SpaceX's IPO in June, its share price surged, briefly making Musk the world's first trillionaire. However, as investors grew concerned about the company's high valuation, the stock price fell, and by late July, Musk's wealth had shrunk by over $600 billion from its peak.
Musk's latest round of wealth growth stems from renewed market optimism toward SpaceX and Tesla. Morgan Stanley analysts said SpaceX is capitalizing on significant growth potential in space and artificial intelligence at relatively low costs, while Tesla's third-quarter sales, announced last week, also exceeded expectations.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the total wealth of tech billionaires currently stands at $4.6 trillion, accounting for 36% of the index's total wealth. Since September 10, all of the world's top ten richest individuals have been from the United States, the first time such a situation has occurred since Bloomberg began tracking billionaires in 2012.
