Broadcom Raises Over $50 Billion for OpenAI Chip Project

  According to a report by The Wall Street Journal on the 8th, Broadcom is arranging financing of over $50 billion for a project to co-develop custom artificial intelligence (AI) chips with OpenAI. Apollo Global Management and Blackstone Group are among the lenders in talks to participate in the financing.

  Meanwhile, Oracle is also in discussions with Apollo and Goldman Sachs to raise funds for chip purchases.

  As data center construction costs soar, tech companies are racing to secure financing. To support the growing number of AI software and services, tech giants are heavily investing in AI infrastructure, prompting them to seek new financing methods. (yc)
