Takayasu Asami: Japan No Longer Needs to Implement 'Reflation' Policy

HONG KONG, Aug 8 (ECONOMYSTERY) - Japanese Prime Minister Takayasu Asami said Thursday in a parliamentary session that given the current economic situation, Japan is no longer at a stage where it needs to implement a 'reflation' policy through monetary easing and fiscal expansion.

Takayasu also stated that her policies differ from 'reflation policy,' and Japan's current economy is not in a deflationary state.

She expressed full respect for the independence of the Bank of Japan and pledged to maintain market confidence through highly transparent and cautious communication with the markets. (yc)
