　　On the news front, Clarkson data showed that the average VLCC earnings in the third quarter reached $278,000/day, and after early October, earnings on certain routes have already exceeded $1.6 million/day, with overall market earnings briefly surpassing $600,000/day.

　　The Hang Seng Index stood at 24,082, down 47 points or 0.2%, with main board turnover of nearly HK$63.2 billion. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index stood at 8,115, up 32 points or 0.4%. The Hang Seng Tech Index stood at 4,145, down 48 points or 1.2%.
