Macau Public Security Police Force announced yesterday that during the mainland's National Day holiday period (September 1 to 7), the number of inbound tourists to Macau reached 1.143 million, averaging 163,000 per day, an increase of 15.5% year-on-year; on September 4, the total number of entries and exits reached 844,000, with inbound tourists exceeding 210,000, both setting new single-day highs for the National Day holiday.
Meanwhile, according to data from Macau's tourism industry, during the National Day holiday, Macau's hotel average occupancy rate was about 80%, generally exceeding 90% during peak periods from September 1 to 5, with several hotels reaching 100% occupancy.
Currently, the Hang Seng Index stands at 24,032, up 246 points or 1%, with main board turnover close to HK$57.6 billion. The H-share Index stands at 8,080, up 69 points or 0.9%. The Hang Seng Tech Index stands at 4,131, up 58 points or 1.4%. (am)
