Full-day T/O at HK$40bn, or 19% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 9 October 2026] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$209.2 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$39.9 billion, or 19.07% of the market's turnover. There were 846 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.81 billion and HK$2.5 billion, or 9.55% and 6.26% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 28.46% and 36.18% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$1.71 billion and HK$1.48 billion of short sales, accounting for 4.29% and 3.72% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 26.37% and 19.31% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.42, or 1.72%, to HK$24.84. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.104, or 2.6%, to HK$4.098. XIAOMI-W rose HK$2.3, or 9.72% to HK$25.96. HSCEI ETF jumped HK$1.54, or 1.88%, to HK$83.5.
