Brazil's presidential election front-runner Flavio pledges cooperation with both China and the U.S., won't take sides

    EET News Service, September 9 - Flavio Bolsonaro, the conservative candidate who unexpectedly led in the first round of Brazil's presidential election, said that if elected, he would cooperate with both the United States and China, and would not take sides.

    Flavio is the son of former President Bolsonaro. Speaking at an event on Thursday (8th) in the capital Brasilia, he said: 'I won't take sides. Whether we are dealing with China, Israel, the Middle East, Argentina, or India, I will always stand with the Brazilian people. That's my way of governing.'

    Flavio led incumbent President Lula in the first round of Brazil's presidential election held last Sunday (4th). The second round of voting will be held on October 25. (rc)
