Over the weekend, three tankers exploded and caught fire after hitting mines in the Strait of Hormuz

《ET Net News Service, Special Report on the 12th》Since last Saturday (10th), three tankers have exploded and caught fire after hitting naval mines while passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Most recently, on Sunday (11th), a supertanker carrying crude oil caught fire after hitting a mine. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that these tankers were navigating in violation of regulations.

According to the Sepah News website, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the supertanker attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz via the southern route and turned off its navigation and identification systems during the journey. Iran claims the disaster occurred because it violated navigational regulations by entering an 'unauthorized' route.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran warned that any vessel turning off its navigation and identification systems within the Strait of Hormuz area will be directly regarded as a 'hostile target' and subjected to resolute and decisive severe measures. (rc)
