IEA: Member countries agree to accelerate release of over 20 million barrels of diesel and timely投放 of 100 million barrels of oil

Economic Daily News, June 16 - The International Energy Agency (IEA) announced that member countries have agreed to quickly release over 20 million barrels of diesel into the market and accelerate the release of the remaining oil reserves pledged in March, aiming to alleviate global fuel supply tensions and soaring prices.

The IEA stated that member countries have so far released approximately 330 million barrels of oil and have agreed to timely投放 the remaining about 100 million barrels, with actual arrangements subject to individual country circumstances. As some member countries have released more than their originally pledged amounts, the total volume released will ultimately exceed the initial commitment of 400 million barrels.

Diesel supply has been affected by factors such as conflicts in the Middle East, the Russia-Ukraine war, and damaged refining facilities. The UK's Financial Times cited IEA analysis indicating that the global diesel shortage may persist until mid-2027. (kk)
