In the demonstration, as the Roadster reached the end of the curved ramp, the entire vehicle nearly inverted but still remained firmly attached to the ramp without falling off. According to Tesla's website, the car generates downforce using a multi-mode fan and ground-effect aerodynamic system, extracting air from beneath the vehicle. The powerful suction force can even suspend the entire car upside down when stationary.
Subsequently, the Roadster rolled over, ejected a powerful airflow from its underside, and slowly landed under control. The Roadster is equipped with 10 jet thrusters utilizing SpaceX's rocket control technology, ejecting airflow in various directions, sufficient to levitate the vehicle in mid-air, as if flying.
Tesla CEO Musk had indicated nine years ago his intention to develop such a car, and it has now been officially unveiled. He stated that the vehicle will enter production in 2028 and claimed, 'This time it's real.'
However, when asked whether the car could legally drive on roads, Musk said it would depend on road conditions, but 'it will be a usable car.' (yc)
