The Hang Seng Index briefly broke below the 24,000 level yesterday (15th), but except for BOCHK, the other three major banks rose against the market trend in the final session, helping the index to recover above 24,000. This morning, supported by favorable external markets, the Hang Seng Index rebounded, with CCB, ICBC, and ABC hitting new highs early in the session, but facing resistance at higher levels, all have now turned negative.
Additionally, China will release its third-quarter GDP growth rate, as well as fixed asset investment, industrial production, and retail sales data for September next Monday (19th).
Currently, the Hang Seng Index stands at 24,295, up 232 points or 1%, with turnover of nearly HK$110.7 billion on the main board. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index is at 8,166, up 63 points or 0.8%. The Hang Seng Tech Index is at 4,135, up 74 points or 1.8%.
