　　{Economic Information Daily News, 16th} Japanese stocks surged in the afternoon session, with the Nikkei 225 Index closing at 65324, up 898 points or 1.39%. The South Korean KOSPI Index closed at 5668, up 113 points or 2.05%.

　　The US dollar against the Japanese yen was quoted at 157.84/86.
