Japanese stocks plunged sharply in early trading, with the Nikkei 225 down 694 points at 64222, yen at 158.56

The Economic Information Daily News (20th) reported: Japanese stocks plunged sharply in early trading, with the Nikkei 225 index at 64222, down 694 points or 1.07%. The South Korean KOSPI index was last at 5588, down 179 points or 3.11%.

The U.S. dollar against the Japanese yen was quoted at 158.55/57.
