[ET Net News Agency, 17 April 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$50.66
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$9.92 billion, or 19.58% of the market's
turnover. There were 631 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND (02800)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.55 billion and HK$995.2 million, or
15.61% and 10.03% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 38.3% and 20.57% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$480.35 million and HK$352.28 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.84% and 3.55% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 23.99% and 33.74% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$0.02, or 0.03%, to HK$58.1. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.03, or
0.18%, to HK$16.46. TENCENT fell HK$1, or 0.33% to HK$300.8. MEITUAN-W declined by HK$1,
or 1.01%, to HK$97.7.
