[ET Net News Agency, 6 May 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$80.07
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.52 billion, or 13.14% of the market's
turnover. There were 643 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND (02800)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.69 billion and HK$1.49 billion, or
16.02% and 14.18% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 56.73% and 69.78% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$664.87 million and HK$403.2 million
of short sales, accounting for 6.32% and 3.83% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 13.48% and 12.23% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$0.26, or 0.39%, to HK$66.12. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.02, or
0.11%, to HK$18.58. TENCENT rose HK$3.2, or 0.88% to HK$367.6. MEITUAN-W declined by
HK$1.3, or 1.09%, to HK$118.4.
