[ET Net News Agency, 13 May 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$79.06
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$8.63 billion, or 10.92% of the market's
turnover. There were 628 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.04 billion and HK$401.25 million, or
12.07% and 4.65% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
52.06% and 8.8% of respective stock's turnover.
KUAISHOU-W (01024) and ICBC (01398) registered HK$379.46 million and HK$377.27 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.4% and 4.37% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 30.2% and 28.79% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.08, or 0.42%, to HK$19.2. TENCENT ended up HK$5, or 1.35%,
to HK$376. KUAISHOU-W fell HK$0.85, or 1.5% to HK$55.9. ICBC remained flat, to HK$4.53.
