[ET Net News Agency, 23 July 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$41.63
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$6.45 billion, or 15.49% of the market's
turnover. There were 600 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and MEITUAN-W (03690)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$738.79 million and HK$651.76 million,
or 11.45% and 10.11% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 29.11% and 33.05% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and ICBC (01398) registered HK$319.42 million and HK$288.98 million of
short sales, accounting for 4.95% and 4.48% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 18.99% and 42.25% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.04, or 0.22%, to HK$18.18. MEITUAN-W ended down HK$1.8, or
1.48%, to HK$119.5. TENCENT fell HK$2, or 0.54% to HK$371.2. ICBC jumped HK$0.1, or 2.34%,
to HK$4.38.
