There were 725 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and BYD COMPANY (01211) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.68 billion and HK$2.01 billion, or 7.48% and 5.61% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 14.34% and 39.53% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$1.92 billion and HK$1.41 billion of short sales, accounting for 5.36% and 3.93% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 21.96% and 8.04% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed down HK$0.65, or 1.26%, to HK$51.05. BYD COMPANY ended down HK$0.6, or 0.15%, to HK$406.8. BABA-W rose HK$0.9, or 0.69% to HK$131. TRACKER FUND declined by HK$0.16, or 0.67%, to HK$23.72.
