[ET Net News Agency, 9 April 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$207.76 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$43.36 billion, or 20.87% of the market's turnover. There were 719 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W (01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.24 billion and HK$2.8 billion, or 7.47% and 6.45% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 24.41% and 17.56% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$2.57 billion and HK$2.41 billion of short sales, accounting for 5.93% and 5.56% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 39.5% and 16.73% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$2.1, or 2.05%, to HK$100.4. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$1.15, or 2.96%, to HK$40.05. CSOP HS TECH fell HK$0.036, or 0.8% to HK$4.436. TENCENT declined by HK$5.8, or 1.32%, to HK$434.6.
