[ET Net News Agency, 18 June 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$103.94 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.94 billion, or 10.52% of the market's turnover. There were 680 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and MEITUAN-W (03690) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$642.59 million and HK$504.54 million, or 5.88% and 4.61% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 16.89% and 13.91% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$430.25 million and HK$423.7 million of short sales, accounting for 3.93% and 3.87% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 9.51% and 10.24% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$2.9, or 2.53%, to HK$111.9. MEITUAN-W ended down HK$5.1, or 3.69%, to HK$133. HSCEI ETF fell HK$1.1, or 1.22% to HK$88.88. TENCENT declined by HK$9, or 1.75%, to HK$504.5.
