[ET Net News Agency, 24 June 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$131.88 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.15 billion, or 12.24% of the market's turnover. There were 669 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and BYD COMPANY (01211) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$817.42 million and HK$721.77 million, or 5.06% and 4.47% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 9.56% and 45.37% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$721.22 million and HK$639.67 million of short sales, accounting for 4.47% and 3.96% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 11.24% and 17.31% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed up HK$2.05, or 3.74%, to HK$56.9. BYD COMPANY ended up HK$4.4, or 3.49%, to HK$130.5. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.48, or 1.99% to HK$24.58. HSCEI ETF jumped HK$1.72, or 1.93%, to HK$90.7.
