There were 720 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.83 billion and HK$1.29 billion, or 9.84% and 6.96% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 16.49% and 23.25% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and SMIC (00981) registered HK$1.11 billion and HK$813.84 million of short sales, accounting for 5.96% and 4.38% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 41.54% and 13.84% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$6.2, or 3.83%, to HK$168.1. TENCENT ended up HK$12.5, or 1.99%, to HK$640. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.155, or 2.67% to HK$5.97. SMIC jumped HK$4.25, or 5.92%, to HK$76.05.
