[ET Net News Agency, 31 October 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$142.3 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.37 billion, or 14.32% of the market's turnover. There were 717 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.57 billion and HK$1.69 billion, or 12.6% and 8.3% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 35.5% and 55.85% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$894.01 million and HK$869.62 million of short sales, accounting for 4.39% and 4.27% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 25.25% and 11.5% of respective stock's turnover.
