[ET Net News Agency, 19 December 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$97.52 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$21.23 billion, or 21.77% of the market's turnover. There were 763 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND (02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.76 billion and HK$3.81 billion, or 27.15% and 17.94% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 56.47% and 53% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$1.2 billion and HK$697.72 million of short sales, accounting for 5.66% and 3.29% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 30.71% and 28.85% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$0.52, or 0.57%, to HK$91.12. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.2, or 0.78%, to HK$25.9. BABA-W rose HK$1.1, or 0.76% to HK$145.2. CSOP HS TECH jumped HK$0.06, or 1.13%, to HK$5.37.
