[ET Net News Agency, 14 January 2026] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$340.39 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$42.9 billion, or 12.6% of the
market's turnover. There were 836 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.03 billion and HK$2.55 billion, or
9.4% and 5.95% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
9.88% and 14.07% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and ALI HEALTH (00241) registered HK$2.35 billion and HK$1.78
billion of short sales, accounting for 5.47% and 4.14% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 28.75% and 23.84% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$9.1, or 5.69%, to HK$169. TENCENT ended up HK$5.5, or 0.88%, to
HK$633. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.03, or 0.52% to HK$5.77. ALI HEALTH jumped HK$1.24, or
18.96%, to HK$7.78.
