[ET Net News Agency, 15 January 2026] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$290.46 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$35.08 billion, or 12.08% of the
market's turnover. There were 820 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.92 billion and HK$2.55 billion, or
11.18% and 7.28% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
17.79% and 15.59% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$2.2 billion and HK$1.98
billion of short sales, accounting for 6.28% and 5.65% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 22.99% and 12.12% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$4.4, or 2.6%, to HK$164.6. TENCENT ended down HK$11, or 1.74%, to
HK$622. CSOP HS TECH fell HK$0.065, or 1.13% to HK$5.705. TRACKER FUND declined by
HK$0.08, or 0.29%, to HK$27.12.
