[ET Net News Agency, 18 March 2026] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$240.37
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$37.21 billion, or 15.48% of the market's
turnover. There were 836 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W (01810) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.11 billion and HK$2.14 billion, or 11.04%
and 5.75% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 27.67%
and 44.21% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$1.95 billion and HK$1.51
billion of short sales, accounting for 5.24% and 4.05% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 14.3% and 21.15% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$3.1, or 2.3%, to HK$137.7. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$0.22, or 0.62%, to
HK$35.14. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.08, or 0.31% to HK$26.28. HSCEI ETF jumped HK$0.08, or
0.09%, to HK$90.48.
