[ET Net News Agency, 16 January 2018] Pacific Textiles (01382) said its wholly-owned
subsidiary Pacific (Panyu) Textiles Limited (PPTL), accredited with ISO 50001 certified
energy management system, has received recognitions from the government of the People's
Republic of China and various organizations for its performance in energy savings.
PPTL was nominated by China National Institute of Standardization Resources and
Environment Branch to participate in the 2018 Energy Management Leadership Award to be
held in Denmark and Sweden. The said global award programme is organised by the Energy
Management Working Group (EMWG), a joint venture of the Clean Energy Ministerial and the
International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation. EMWG is operated by the
United Nations Industrial Development Organisation. In 2017, PPTL was conferred the China
Energy Management National Award by the PRC unit of EMWG.
PPTL also entered into a 20 years' cooperation arrangement with a local solar power
technology enterprise. Pursuant to the arrangement, PPTL will let out certain factory
premises area for deploying solar glass and solar panel, in exchange for long term
discount and priority on the use of electricity generated by the solar photovoltaic
system. The project scale is up to 5.5 MWp, with expected electricity output at 5 million
Kwh per year, resulting in average annual reduction of carbon emission at 1,376 tons. (HL)
