[ET Net News Agency, 7 November 2017] UBS Global Research raised its target price for
Anta Sports Products (02020) to HK$41.8 from HK$38.4, and maintained its "buy" rating.
The research house said Anta has accelerated its multi-brand expansion in the last two
years. It noted that the company formed a JV with Descente in 1H 2016, acquired Korean
brand Kolon Sport in 1H 2017 and most recently acquired children's clothing brand KingKow
in October.
UBS expects the company to enter into two deals per year in the next three years, though
FILA will likely remain the strongest earnings driver (acquisition completed in late
2009).
UBS believes human capital is the weakest link for Anta and will most likely become more
stretched as the company expands into more brands without building up its management team.
