[ET Net News Agency, 24 April 2018] China Power International Development (02380) said
the combined total electricity sold of the group for the three months ended 31 March 2018
amounted to about 15.6 million MWh, an increase of 4.88% year-on-year.
Such growth was mainly due to severe cold weather during the period caused electricity
demand for heat to increase, and the newly operating wind power plants and photovoltaic
power stations and the newly acquired photovoltaic power station contributed to the
increase in the total electricity sold. However, the low rainfall during the period in the
river basins where the Group's hydropower plants are located, resulting in a decline in
power generation, narrowed the year-on-year increase in the overall electricity sales in
the first quarter. (HL)
