China October auto sales up 5.3% to 1.61m - CAAM

China's domestic vehicle sales in October was
about 1.61 million units, an increase of 5.32% from a year earlier but down 0.73% from
September, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said.
In particular, sales of passenger cars rose 6.4% year-on-year last month.
For the first ten months of 2012, accumulated car sales in China rose 3.56% year-on-year
to about 15.7 million units, of which passenger cars sales in the first nine months rose
6.9% year-on-year to about 12.57 million units. (HL)
