[ET Net News Agency, 2 March 2021] Citi Research said Macau's February GGR (gross
gaming revenue) came in 29% of the February-2019 level, at MOP7,312m (or MOP261m/day),
slightly missing the research house's estimate of MOP7.5bn. But the February run-rate
represents the best daily GGR run-rate since the pandemic.
Citi believes the Chinese government will remain cautious on when to relax its policy
for Macau-bound travel visas. For now, we remain conservative and assume no material
change on visa policy in March. It anticipated that Macau GGR in March would stay largely
flat versus January. Accordingly, Citi kept its March GGR forecast unchanged at MOP8bn
(31% of 2019 level). (KL)
