[ET Net News Agency, 16 August 2018] CK Hutchison Holdings (00001) announced an
investment in nuron Limited, an innovative company on the forefront of monitoring
technology for the water industry.
nuron, founded in 2014, has pioneered the world's first continuous in-pipe waste-water
monitoring system, which enables water companies to move from a costly and reactive mode
of operation to an efficient and proactive one, improving customer satisfaction,
environmental performance and total expenditure. Deployed using advanced robotics, it also
enables communications networks to be deployed faster and more cost-effectively than by
using traditional civil engineering methods.
A first live system is currently being deployed in partnership with Northumbrian Water,
a CK Hutchison company. The CK Hutchison investment will support nuron as it deploys
systems at scale across the UK and beyond. nuron is also exploring how its robots and
fiber laying technologies can augment CK Hutchison's telecommunications infrastructure.
