the group recorded a year-on-year decrease and a month-on-month increase in combined
passenger traffic (measured by revenue passenger kilometres (the RPK)). Passenger capacity
(measured by available seat kilometres (the ASK)) recorded a year-on-year decrease of
17.2% and a month-on-month increase of 9.2% while passenger traffic recorded a
year-on-year decrease of 23.6% and a month-on-month increase of 13.0%, respectively. Among
which, for domestic routes, passenger capacity decreased by 16.1% as compared to the same
period last year and increased by 9.6% as compared to the previous month, and passenger
traffic decreased by 23.0% as compared to the same period last year and increased by 14.2%
as compared to the previous month. For international routes, passenger capacity decreased
by 37.4% as compared to the same period last year and increased by 34.0% as compared to
the previous month, and passenger traffic decreased by 40.7% and 4.9% as compared to the
same period last year and the previous month, respectively. For regional routes, passenger
capacity decreased by 49.0% and 51.6% as compared to the same period last year and the
previous month, respectively, and passenger traffic recorded a year-on-year decrease of
56.2% and a month-on-month decrease of 63.2%. The overall passenger load factor was 68.9%,
representing a decrease of 5.8 percentage points as compared to the same period last year
but an increase of 2.3 percentage points as compared to the previous month. Among which,
the passenger load factor for domestic routes decreased by 6.3 percentage points as
compared to the same period last year but increased by 2.8 percentage points as compared
to the previous month. The passenger load factor for international routes decreased by 2.3
percentage points as compared to the same period last year and decreased by 17.2
percentage points as compared to the previous month. The passenger load factor for
regional routes decreased by 6.1 percentage points year on year and decreased by 11.6
percentage points month on month.
In terms of cargo operations, cargo capacity (measured by available freight tonne
kilometres (the AFTK)) decreased by 3.5% year on year and increased by 26.4% month on
month. Cargo and mail traffic (measured by revenue freight tonne kilometres (the RFTK))
increased by 4.6% year on year and increased by 6.2% month on month. The volume of cargo
and mail carried decreased by 10.0% as compared to the same period last year but increased
by 1.9% as compared to the previous month. The cargo load factor was 38.9%, representing a
year-on-year increase of 3.0 percentage points but a month-on-month decrease of 7.4
