入選建築（59）：香港滙豐總行大廈 (第三代)

香港滙豐總行大廈 (第三代)的故事:

　　落成於1936年的滙豐銀行總行，樓高13層，鋼架結構，外牆以花崗石鋪砌，是第三代的滙豐總行。建築師巴馬丹拿(Palmer & Turner) ，以當年流行的裝飾藝術風格(Art Deco)設計。外型是以下寬上窄的對稱退臺型設計，配以垂直線條及梯形屋頂，在全無遮擋的皇后像廣場前，顯得氣派特別宏偉，成為香港地標。門前的一對銅獅，更是大眾的攝影對象。在大堂天花上，有以馬賽克(Mosaic)鋪砌的壁畫，顯示不同城市的風貌，以代表滙豐銀行遍佈全球。銀行總行於1981年被拆卸重建。

HSBC Headquarters Building (3^rd generation) 

　　Completed in 1936, HSBC Headquarters Building (3rd generation) was a thirteen-storey building with steel structure and granite exterior walls. With Palmer & Turner as the architect, the building adopted an Art Deco style. Situated in front of the spacious Statue Square, the majestic building with wide base and narrow top coupled with symmetrical setbacks, vertical lines and trapezoid roof was the landmark of Hong Kong. The copper lion statues at the entrance even became a public photo spot. A mosaic mural on the roof of the lobby showcased sceneries of different cities across the globe, symbolising HSBC’s worldwide presence. The Headquarters Building was demolished and reconstructed in 1981.
