The "Yoya Fabric Festival" is back again! Nan Fung Group’s community project - "World Promise" held the first "Promise Fabric Festival" in April last year, which was widely welcomed by people from all walks of life and attracted more than 15,000 participants. This year, the "Fabric Festival" returns with the theme of "Dialogue with Emotions". A large-scale knitting festival will be held at Nan Fung Spinning Mill for two consecutive days from May 24 to 25, once again gathering different knitting enthusiasts and artists, and bringing a new interactive experience. Through holding markets, exhibitions and a series of workshops, let everyone experience the infinite charm of knitting for themselves!

The hands of the master pass on the beauty of weaving

In order to promote textile culture and pass on traditional weaving techniques, the "Fabric Festival" specially invited 20 local weaving units to hold more than 20 workshops and weaving experiences, so that friends who are interested in weaving and families who want to enjoy parent-child time on weekends can experience different weaving techniques such as embroidery, rattan weaving, weaving, screen printing, natural dyeing, etc. in Nan Fung Spinning Mill. Let everyone create unique works with their own hands, feel the beauty of weaving and relax at the same time by making fabrics.

There will also be a local weavers’ market at the same venue, gathering 40 unique fabric stalls. In the Marimekko DIY badge workshop, you can choose the style that best represents your mood from the fabrics provided by Marimekko, and cut out the favorite color pattern to make a unique badge. "Emotional Knitting Research Society" uses "weaving" to convey meaning and connect people, emotions and events in the community

The "Appointment Fabric Festival" will exhibit two giant knitted works co-created by the "Emotional Quilting Research Society" curated by "World Promise" and the Taiwanese textile brand 8bit Textile (@8bit_textiledesign). The works are a collection of the participatory interactive games "Knitting Memo" and "Emotional Embroidery" that the "Emotional Quilting Research Society" started last year, allowing community members to record and express their emotional feelings through knitting games, and create their own exclusive "emotional trace patterns." The collected patterns are then handed over to 8-bit Textiles for production using knitting technology. In addition to the works on display, there will also be interactive workshops at the venue, hoping that everyone can spin yarn in their hands to leave emotional traces on the giant works, interact with the exhibits at close range, and feel the emotions of others.

4【Appointment Fabric Festival | Embroidery x Goldwork Jewelry Workshop】

Introduction:
In this metal jewelry workshop, you will experience the combination of metal and needlework, and explore the creative pleasure between the hardness of metal materials and the flexibility of needlework. The workshop will be based on metalwork jewelry and combined with embroidery techniques, allowing you to create metalwork works by yourself. Introduction:
Did you know that plant dyes can not only be used to dye cloth, but can also be turned into natural seal paint? Maju Forest is run by fashion designer Makie, who is responsible for teaching, designing and sourcing materials. Sister Xing (Guo Xinglian) has been working as a seamstress for over 40 years. At the age of 11, he first worked in an electronics factory. A few months later, encouraged by his mother, he began to learn about garment making in a garment factory. With her deft skills, she has had the opportunity to learn to use a wide range of special clothing, and her years of work experience have enabled her to handle special designs or requests with ease. She described each production as a kind of learning, which not only allows her to accumulate experience but also allows her to master more detailed sewing techniques.

Introduction:
Tearing up paper is indeed a good way to relieve stress, but have you ever thought about applying this stress-relieving technique to printmaking? Paper Stenciling and Screen Printing Workshops are back! In addition to the traditional screen printing method, there are many different and interesting ways to play with screen printing. This year, printmaker Wen Ching Yiu will teach you how to create your own paper screen prints using cardboard and hand-torn patterns.

The whole process does not require any complicated tools. You only need to tear out your favorite pattern with paper, and then use a silk screen and some pattern templates to print your creativity on the cloth bag! Artist/Brand Introduction:
Stephanie Kwok is good at Western and French embroidery. She has traveled to the Royal School of Needlework in London and Chanel's École Lesage haute couture embroidery workshop in Paris, France to learn and delve into diverse embroidery techniques. In 2017, she founded "Little Dream Embroidery", which combines teaching, exhibitions, brand cooperation and customized services to promote embroidery as not only a skill but also a slow-living philosophy. Through the process of needlework, people can reconnect with themselves and their lives.

Jack Tang received his Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2022. The works include ceramics, mixed media, installation and painting. Influenced by the reciprocal relationship between personal experience and social system, Deng Li’s works mostly begin with exploring how human culture is formed in society and affects lifestyles, as well as the relationship between human culture and nature. Currently a member of the curatorial team of Nan Fung Group - World Promise. Focus on planning work on culture, art and sustainable development.

MOSORSISI is an independent handmade brand established in 2010, with handmade hats as its core. The right hand constantly pulls the thread rod and the left hand holds the fabric. Hand-cranked embroidery requires a long period of practice to become proficient.
