The Hong Kong Monetary Authority said today the composite interest rate, which is a measure of the average cost of funds of banks, increased slightly by 4 basis points to 0.41% at the end of March 2014, from 0.37% at the end of February 2014.
The rise in the composite interest rate in March reflected increases in the weighted funding cost for both deposits and interbank funds.
