HK stocks closed slightly higher on Thursday morning session after the Dow hovered at record highs overnight, with the benchmark index paring early gains to trade below the 25,000-mark.
The Hang Seng Index ended up 20 points to 24,939. The H-share index dropped 18 points to 11,055. Half-day turnover increased to HK$35.7bn from HK$32.37bn on Wednesday.
China Telecom (00728) shot up 7.48% to HK$4.74 after Barclays raises its target price to HK$4.8.
China Res Land (01109) dipped 4.25% to HK$17.56, making itself the largest blue-chip loser.
China Fiber Optic (03777) tumbled 4.18% to HK$2.52 after it announced placing of shares for HK$680 million. Country Garden (02007) slid 4.7% to HK$3.45 on its proposed 1-for-15 rights issue.
