AIA Group (01299) said it reported a record value of new business (VONB) of US$468 million for the third quarter ended 31 August 2014, an increase of 23% from a year earlier, with VONB margin rose 4 percentage points to 48.7%.
Annualised new premium (ANP) amounted to US$944 million, up 13% year-on-year. Total weighted premium income (TWPI) grew 12% to US$4,935 million.
For the first three quarters of 2014, VONB rose 23% year-on-year to US$1,260 million and VONB margin rose 4.4 percentage points to 47.1%. ANP grew 11% to US$2,634 million and TWPI was up 8% to US$13,939 million.
