The Land Registry said today the number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in July was 5,354, a decrease of 11.3% compared with June and down 27% from the same month last year.
The 12-month moving average for July was 4,759, 3.4% below the 12-month moving average for June and 35.7% below that for the same period last year.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in July was HK$36.1 billion, down 9% month-on-month and down 34.8% year-on-year.
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 4,243 were for residential units, a decrease of 8.2% from the previous month and a decrease of 21.3% from the corresponding period last year. The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was HK$29.7 billion, down 8.8% month-on-month and 33.3% year-on-year.
