The Hong Kong Monetary Authority said today the official foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong amounted to US$385 billion as at the end of November 2016 (end-October 2016: US$383.1 billion).
Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong at the end of November 2016 amounted to US$376.9 billion (end-October 2016: US$374.4 billion).
The total foreign currency reserve assets of US$385 billion represent over seven times the currency in circulation or about 48% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
